CLIENT'S OBJECTIVES
    Cost-effective replacement of a 51-foot, two-span structurally deficient bridge. Minimize wetlands and property impacts while improving the main street alignment.
THE FACTS
    The existing bridge had deteriorated to a condition such that it needed to be replaced.

    The Main Street alignment in the bridge area was difficult to travel, even at low speeds, due to a sharp curve adjacent to the bridge.

    Buildings are in close proximity to the roadway throughout the project limits, making it difficult to avoid property impacts.
THE RESULTS
    CLD designed a project that "softened" the existing sharp horizontal alignment by realigning the new bridge and approaches. Property and wetlands impacts were kept to minimum without sacrificing the safety of the traveling public. Engineering services provided by CLD encompassed all aspects of preliminary and final bridge and roadway design, survey, wetland delineation and permitting, ROW research, hydraulics and hydrology investigations and analysis, and construction inspection.
